CENTRAL EUROPE. Uncertain tribe. Mid to late 1st century BC. Quinarius (Silver, 13 mm, 1.41 g, 7 h), 'Hockendes Männlein' type. Stylized male figure seated to right, his head turned back to left, holding a snake formed out of dots in his right hand and a torque in his left. Rev. Stylized horse standing right, head turned back to left; all within zigzag border. Dembski -. Flesche -. LT -. Schulze-Forster type III A1. SLM -. An exceptional piece, beautifully toned and sharply struck. Good extremely fine.
